Long time no see, right? This is our first Throwback Thursday since our return from Animore last week, so with that in mind we’ve got some updates for ya! After tonight our 80’s and 90’s Anime of the Week editions for our Throwback Thursday segments, will only have two anime title reviews instead of three, in order to keep the nostalgia going and lasting just a lil’ bit longer. We’re also still constructing our Toonami legacy drop down menu, so we’ll continue to keep you posted on its latest developments.
From February 6th through February 18th of 2017, we’ll be taking a two week hiatus from the blog/site to work on our upcoming fanfiction; Hyakka Ryoran: Samurai S. Until then we’ll continue our regularly scheduled program, which is and will always remain, in progress! ๐

New Con Approaching! 2017 Con Season Begins!!
A new year brings new beginnings, but in a case like this it also brings in a new year of anime conventions all across North America! After doing some late-night research we’ve stumbled upon a brand new anime convention that’s coming to the Baltimore Convention Center; which was the former home of a con we know all to well.
Otaku Magazine is hosting its first ever Anime Fest right here in Baltimore, MD on the first weekend in June of this year. So if you’re an Otakon con goer who’s looking to return to the BCC before August of 2017, then look no further, cuz’ June 3rd and 4th will be your year to geek out with your friends at this newfound con! Between now and January 7th we’ll be posting all of the upcoming anime cons for this month on our Cons Near U page, so be sure to check it out when you get the chance! We’ve also updated our tour stops on our Con Appearances page, so for more info head there to see what up! ๐
One Year Later…
We’re still shocked that it has been a whole year since we’ve created D&A, so to celebrate this momentous occasion, we’ve decided to introduce a new page that most (if not many) of you might be familiar with! Right alongside our Slash Saturday drop down menu will be a sub menu known as The Legacy; which is a drop down of Toonami fan pages covering everything from its creation, its history, and (possibly) some promos. If you are a 90’s kid, and most of us probably are, then you already know that Tom has been a part of your life since the day he arrived. (Long before that it was that one villain from Space Ghost.) So to honor its rise, fall, and return, we at D&A Anime Blog are creating that sub menu known as…The Legacy…
Farewell 2016!! D&A Returns For 2017!!
There are so many words that can describe how this 2016 year has been for us, but one single word that sticks out like a sore thumb, is “interesting”. Whether good or bad this year has been quite interesting for many of us, however we at D&A love and appreciate all of the love and support that we’ve been getting from you guys for the blog. We’ve posted a special end of the year message on our youtube page, so be sure to check it out to see all the awesome new features we plan on adding in 2017! Our mini anime convention tour kicks off January 13th at Animore 2017 in Baltimore, so if you want to know where the rest of our stops will be, check em’ out on our Con Appearances page.
Stating January 6th we’ll be implementing an Age Rating for our Anime of the Week titles. (Though nowadays half of the shows we watch are between TV-14 and TV-MA.) We’ll also be doing the same for Miscellany Monday’s Anime of the Day, and Slash Saturday’s Samurai Anime of the Week. With all that being said both A. Goldman and Yours Truly thank you (the fans) from the bottom of our hearts for making our debut year, a part of you! ๐
Our New Year’s Resolution: Big Plans are Coming for 2017!!
With Christmas and New Years only two weeks away, we at D&A Anime Blog gotta say that it’s been quite a nice ride for our first year! We can’t thank you (the fans) enough for all the positive feedback about the blog and our segments, that we’ve been getting. As you know; we’re kicking off our miniature anime convention tour starting January, 13 2017 at Animore in Baltimore, MD. Of course that’s not all we have planned…
To celebrate our one year anniversary we’re unleashing a new page on the blog that’s sure to get you drenched in nostalgia! That page will make its mark on January 11th. We’re also going to have an age range limit on the blog for certain drop-down menus starting Monday December 19, 2016. That limit being between 14 and 65.
New video content will be coming to our youtube page in the form of AMVs, and vlogs of our tour to different anime conventions. In 2018 we’ll be rolling out the red carpet for our newest music section; Groundz Playlist, featuring original mixes produced by D&A’s founder (D.J. Lewis aka Spinmaster Groundz). There’s so much awesome stuff coming to D&A that we’ve only covered half of it, but now you know where we plan on going for the new year. So to all the anime and manga fans out there, thank you! We love you! And here’s to what’s ahead for us in 2017!! ๐
