Get This! Cruchyroll and Webtoon Are Joining Forces!!

While doing our usual check-up of our social media for updates and other things, we’ve stumbled upon some rather exciting news! Crunchyroll, one of our favorite anime streaming services, is joining forces with Webtoon, the digital comics website dedicated to webtoons. What does this mean? It means that Crunchyroll and Webtoon will be co-producing animated content from the webtoons that have been created. This is very exciting news because this means that Crunchyroll will have brand new original anime content and series coming out, and if you’re a webtoon creator, this is an opportunity to showcase your creation to the masses! That’s our 411, and until next post, stay nerdy! 😉

The Sunshine Blogger Award!

sunshine-blogger

Wow, what an honor! So like we mentioned the other day, we’ve been nominated by In Search of Number Nine for the Sunshine Blogger Award. Never had we thought in the three (going on four) years we’ve been running this anime blog of ours would we be nominated for our efforts, but in reality, we have our fans and fellow anibloggers to thank. Of course there are some rules we have to follow before we go any further, so here they are:

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you in your post and link it back to them.
  2. Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
  3. Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write 11 new questions for them.
  4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo on your post of blog.

Now with all that settled, let’s do this!

What was the first time you cried during an anime, and why?

I have yet to find an anime title that would make me shed a tear, not to say that I don’t have emotions. However there is one exception; that “one” scene from Brotherhood…

…I should probably move on to the next question before I start crying. T.T

What is your favorite series that you will never watch again and why?

Negima! I used to be really into it ten years ago, but I’ve kinda outgrown the show a little bit. That’s not to say that I’ll never watch it again, but there’s so many titles and so little time.

What is your favorite series that you know is terrible, but you still love it. Why do you love it?

Girls Bravo. I wouldn’t say it’s totally terrible, but a small part of me still loves it due to the fact that I’m a sucker for slap-stick romantic comedy.

What is your favorite blog post that you haven’t written yet? Why haven’t you?

I don’t know…because I haven’t written it yet! XP

What blogger do you secretly wish you could be more like. What do you admire about them?

Wow, this one a tough one, because there’s a lot of bloggers I admire – most of them follow our blog. I guess I would say Irina from I Drink and Watch Anime because of her no-holds-barred approach to anime and video games in general. We know we like to play in the “grey area” with our posts and approach, but there are some days where we secretly want to be like her. (Much luv, sis!) 😉

Is there an anime where you think one change would fix it? What anime and what change?

Yes there is! Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. C’mon guys! The whole “Stocking is a Demon” debate drove me nuts after the show ended, I’d throw that out but keep the scene where Panty, Stocking, Brief, Garterbelt, and Chuck return to the church, only to find the black-winged fallen one known as Lucifer and his army of black-winged angels, who have now taken over the church and made it their HQ. He transports them to a parallel world he created and tells them to retrieve the seven scrolls from the seven bosses, or he’ll unleash Armageddon. Lucifer would also has a ghost form – and he’s Panty and Stocking’s older brother.

If you crashed on a desert island, what three people would you want to send you anime? And what anime would it be?

My partner of the blog, A. Goldman, Matt (from Matt’s Blog), and my other friend Josh. As for the anime, Danganronpa 3, Dr. Stone, Danmachi (seasons 1 & 2), Panty & Stocking of course, and Chivalry of a Failed Knight.

Is there a series you wish you could buy on DVD/Blu-Ray? What series would it be?

Yes! Ghost Stories!

What anime creator would you want to talk to, and what series would you like to talk about?

Akira Toriyama, and of course we ALL know what series I wanna talk about! 😉

What anime should I watch that I probably haven’t from the last five years?

The Sacred Blacksmith. Yet another series that didn’t get much fanfare.

What is your favorite fruit?

I don’t really have a favorite fruit in general, but if it’s a strawberry-orange smoothie then I’ll take that.

And now for the 11 questions (you don’t have to worry about rules for them):

  1. What was your very first anime?
  2. When was the first time you’ve gone to an anime convention? What year?
  3. Do you have an anime crush? (Waifu or Husbando)
  4. What anime series do you wish got a second season?
  5. What got you into blogging?
  6. Do you have a favorite anime creator or director that you admire?
  7. What was the first anime you dropped, and why?
  8. Have you ever cosplayed at a convention before?
  9. What’s your favorite anime opening and ending?
  10. What anime titles are you looking forward to next year?
  11. Why do you love anime?

There’s a lot of awesome people I’d nominate, and some of which have nominated us! So here’s my 11 nominees:

We can’t thank you guys enough for all of your love and support! Share this post with any and every blogger you know and love. Until next post, stay nerdy! 😉

Anime Convention Review: Anime USA!

With only a few weeks remaining until our next/last anime convention of the year, for this post we’ve decided to look back on a convention that we’ve had the pleasure of attending last year. Anime USA is a three-day hotel-based convention located in the Woodley area/district of Washington D.C. inside the Marriott. Last year we got the chance to attend this convention and meet a lot of great people, fans who recognized us from other cons, and voice actors that we’ve been trying to meet but never got the chance to – until now! The hotel itself is conveniently right next to the DC Metro, and is also next to a bunch of eateries as well, so you’re not too far if you’re looking for food or if you’re trying to get to the hotel.

On the outside the Marriott doesn’t seem like much, but once you walk inside, it’s actually larger then you’d expect. The hotel itself has its convention built right in, so there were many conference rooms with high ceilings and a couple hundred chairs. All of the main panels as well as the Dealer’s Room were all on the same floor, which is very convenient for fans and other consumers of anime and manga. With it being a mid-sized anime convention, AUSA has its Autograph area on the upper floor, and made it easier on fans wanting autographs from beloved VAs by putting them all on the same floor.

We of course got the chance to chat it up with a few favorites; such as Lisa Ortiz, Kira Buckland, Monica Rial, Crispin Freeman, and more! There were a lot of great panels that we’ve gotten the chance to go to, and the gaming area? Wow! It’s like they have a built-in arcade with classics from the 80’s and 90’s. Nerds and geeks of all ages and creeds have got to check this con out, and although it’s been around for 20 years, its mid-sized 3,000+ attendee size has something for everybody. This year will be our second consecutive year attending this con, and we’ve gotta say, we’ve made a lot of friends last year, and we plan to do the same this year!

That will do it for us on this anime convention review on AUSA. If you didn’t get the chance to go last year, there’s still time, but you’d better hurry! Until next post, take care of each other, and stay nerdy my friends! 😉

Game Review: Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

Happy Thursday night guys n’ gals, and welcome to the blog! This time around we’re bringing you yet another game review from one of our favorite Nintendo gaming consoles; the Nintendo Wii. Many of us remember the commercial of this awesome console with many games like Super Mario Galaxy, WarioWare, and many others. Tonight we’ll be reviewing one of our favorite installments of the Smash Bros. franchise; Super Smash Bros. Brawl!

SuperSmashBrosWallpaper21024
The Smash 3 Roster!

Remember back when the first Smash Bros. came out on the Nintendo 64 back in the late 90’s/Early 2000’s? We do! Now it’s 19 years later and we have Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with a roster of over 70 characters – and counting. (I wouldn’t mind one or two MK characters in there.) Super Smash Bros. Brawl was the third Smash game I’ve played, and I’ve had a blast playing it! Although I was disappointed that Dr. Mario didn’t make it to this installment, I eventually became a Bowser head; meaning that no matter what tier other Smashers thinks he’s on, he’s my number one choice to go to battle with.

They’ve brought back several of the options and specialized battles such as Stamina Battle, Super Sudden Death, and more! I was happy that they brought Break the Targets back in this installment, and as with the last two installments (including Smash 4 and 5), if you play though the Classic Mode you’ll find yourself facing the all-mighty Master Hand. The Final Smash was kind of new when I first played this game, but when I used it for the first time, it was pretty freakin’ cool!

I can’t tell you how many hours I’ve logged into this game, but if I had to put a figure on it, I’d say 745 Hours a year. The Subspace Emissary mode was pretty cool, as it kind of gave the game a bit of a plot and an original storyline. There’s nothing like grabbing your friends, picking your favorite Nintendo character, and then just betting the living (poop emoji) out of each other for laughs – because its just for fun! The cool part about having the Wii was the fact that it also plays Gamecube games, so you can play Smash Bros. Melee and Smash Bros. Brawl.

For that I give this game a 4.8 / 5!

If you still have a Wii, I’d pick this game up! You can pretty much find it online, or in the old school gamer bin at GameStop. If you’re hankering for Smash Ultimate, you can by a Nintendo Switch Lite and pick up a copy of the game. With the Lite however, you have to make sure that the game has ‘Handheld Mode’ compatibility. Other than that, you’re good to go! On that note that will do it for this game review from the awesome guys of D&A Anime Blog! Until next post, stay nerdy my friends! 😉

“Junko” Fanfiction Update!

So sometime back in mid-August we made a post about a 21-chapter fanfiction, about Danganronpa’s main villainess Junko Enoshima. Well now we’ve got some updates to share with you about this new project! After working on the title cover of the fanfiction itself we now have a posting date for 2020; that date will be March 16, 2020! This will actually be one of our first fanfics that we’ve ever worked on for D&A, as well as our first ever Danagnronpa fanfiction. There may be more projects like this coming in the future, but for the moment we’ll be keeping our main focus on this one.

Junko [Fanfiction Cover]

We’re still working on the full plot of the story, but we can give you the synopsis…

With Hope’s Peak transformed into an Armageddon shelter, 95% of Japan’s population has now fallen into despair. All of the class members of Class 77-B have now become agents of despair also known as the Remnants of Despair, and have laid waste to everything, and anybody that dares to stand in their way.

All of this happened because of two girls (well, one girl with a serious Harley Quinn complex if you would call it that) thought the world was a boring place and decided to ‘shake things up’. Although they were determined their plan didn’t come into full fruition without a few distractions – if you can even call them that! The Queen of Despair, Junko Enoshima, and her sister Mukuro plan on sharing their despair with the rest of world (and by that we mean Junko’s), but it won’t be as easy as they think it will be.

As we mentioned before, we can’t give away any real spoilers about who will be in this fanfic besides Junko, Muruko, and a few key players of Danganronpa 3: Despair Side. Basically this fanfic is almost like a ‘road trip’ thing where Junko an a few of her despair-infected minions go from country to country trying to infect them with despair, before coming back ‘home’ and doing the same with the 78th Class. Although there will be moments of despair, there will also be moments of dark humor and other random moments. (Did we mention how easily bored Junko gets?)

Well guys n’ gals, that’s all we’ve got for now! Until next post, stay nerdy! 😉
