Since the end of May, we’ve been working on coming up with new ways to share with the world (and our fans) what we’re about and what we can do. We can’t thank you guys enough for all of the love and support we’ve been getting throughout the year, and although the opportunities to showcase our physical presence at anime cons have gone down, we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon! Lately we’ve been working on how we can make the blog/site more “user-friendly” to our fans, so we’ve done some redesigning on our home page via Master Links and Alternative Filler Post links in order to make finding your favorite posts easier.
The renovations don’t stop there; on January 11, 2019 we are officially making the transition over to the Premium Plan, so that it will give us the chance to add new features and continue to make the blog easier to navigate through. We’ll even be able to add a Shop page to our blog for fans that want to buy D&A merch – once we get it set up, of course! (We’ll keep you posted on when that will take place.) In the mean time we’ve got more awesome filler posts coming up next week, and when we’ll be launching our official Reddit subpage!

Error 404: Writer’s Block Strikes Again!
Ugh! We never thought we’d have to go down this road again, but if you’re a blogger like ourselves then we’re pretty sure you’ve went through it as well. It’s always awesome when you have a lot to post about, but every now and then your brain gets that ‘Error 404’ message just after you’ve posted something good. However this post is not a total loss; as we’ve got a small announcement for you guys regarding our linked posts, and what we’ll be doing next! On our Facebook and Twitter pages we made an announcement that from Wednesday to Next Monday, that we’ll be doing some blog maintenance and working on special projects throughout the Fall, so there wouldn’t be any blog posts coming from us after Wednesday. Well, we’ve decided to change that; our posting schedule will remain the same, however the timing of our filler posts may be slightly delayed. With that being said, we thank you guys from the bottom of our hearts for all of the love and support that you’ve given us, and we hope that you guys will continue to be a part of us – as we are with you! ๐
D&A Anime Blog: D&A Subreddit Page Announcement!
Hey guys n’ gals, we’re proud to announce that we’re back up and running after our site was temporarily down due to technical difficulties. Now that our moment of terror is over, it’s time to bring you some awesome news from the D&A front! Starting November 9, 2018 we’ll be introducing our brand new subreddit page known as 7th Place; where we’ll be doing our ‘Top 7’ topics/posts that range from anime, to otaku life in general. For the reminder of 2018 we’ll be expanding our online presence so that we can continue to grow as more than just an anime blog. Although our YouTube presence has been lacking as of late, there are more anime convention highlight videos on the horizon! There will be a sneak peek preview of one of our ‘7th Place’ posts coming later this week, in the meantime continue to spread the word about us, and keep a lookout on some more updates as well as filler posts from us! ๐
D&A Anime Blog: Updates, Cancellations, and What’s on the Horizon!
Hey guys n’ gals! We’re hoping that you all had a great 4th of July last night, and didn’t do anything too dangerous. So here we are halfway through 2018 (as hard as that is to believe), and it’s only a matter of time before our three-year anniversary comes up in January. We don’t know what we’re going to do yet for that celebration, but what we do have is a few updates on what’s going to be happening for the remainder of the year. Some of it’s good news, and some of its bad news, but at the end of the day, we want our fans to know how much we love them for all of the support that they’ve been giving us.
During the creative process of what we wanted D&A Anime Blog to be, we wanted to have a few things that made us stood out from all the rest. One of the founding members of D&A, Donte’ Jamal Lewis, has been producing music between 2008-2014 through a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) known as MAGIX; great for Hip-Hop or Electronic Music Producers. He took a hiatus in Spring 2014 to take Music Production classes in college, now he’s prepared to take his newfound knowledge of Mixing, Mastering, Compression and Limiting, and use it to create new music.
With that being said, we’ll finally be able to purchase a DJ controller (the Pioneer DDJ-1000) for Lewis, as he takes on the name Spindraulics in celebration of unlocking this achievement! A new page containing both original music and DJ mixes from Spindraulics (Lewis) will be making its way to the blog January 2019!
Now for a little bit of bad news; we won’t be able to attend Anime Festival Orlando this year, so to our fans who live in Orlando, Florida who follow us on social media, we apologize that we won’t be able to make it this time. This however doesn’t mean that we won’t go to AFO in the future. As for our fan fiction menu (if you haven’t already heard the news), we’ll be removing the current title Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Silver, and replace it with Sonic Beatdown: Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. We’ll keep you updated on when it will be making its way to the blog, and what the story will be about.
Next year we may be temporarily pulling back a bit on convention appearances (only going to about 2-3/year) in order to find new ways to market and advertise what we do (i.e. Reddit, Instagram, and more). This doesn’t mean that we love our fans any less, its just with the rising costs of reliable transportation these days, it’s kinda hard to manage appearances on an out-of-pocket budget. In spite of this we’ll be working on getting sponsorships and figuring out ways to sell our brand merchandise, and (possibly) open up a kickstarter page.

D&A Anime Blog: End of June Updates & Announcements!
What? It’s already the end of June?! It’s true; there are only six months left in 2018, and as much as some of you guys n’ gals hate it, Thanksgiving and Christmas will be coming around the corner as well. Although you’ve heard it from us many times over the last 2.5 years, we appreciate all of the love and support that you’ve given us and the blog. We have over 13,000 views in our view count and have over 120 followers on our blog page, so to celebrate that accomplishment we’re announcing that we’ll be having our own Reddit page coming this Fall! It will have some links to our best filler posts from the blog, as well as a new topics that will contain a series of posts, that will be exclusive to our Reddit page. It will also be the new home for the “A Founder’s Thoughts with D.J. Lewis” filler post series.
Also on our update announcement list; we’ve decided to discontinue our fanfiction Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Silver, to make room for our new three-installment fanfiction crossover series known as the Sonic Beatdown Crossover Series! It will be a new two-year project that we’ll be working on between now, and Summer 2020. The titles of these installments goes as follows; Sonic Beatdown: Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Forces, and Sonic Beatdown: Daten City.EXE. We’ll also be doing some live streaming segments in the near future, so we’ll keep you guys up to date on when and what time they’ll take place.

D&A Anime Blog: Quick Fanfiction Updates!
Hey guys n’ gals! The Summer heat is already upon us over on our neck of the woods, but we’re doing our best to stay cool in this situation. Before we kick off our ‘First Day of Summer’ week, we’ve got some updates regarding our fan fiction titles.
First Update: We’ll be revamping our current fan fiction title known as Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Silver, to its new name Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Forces! The plot for the new story will be revealed in a later post either this week or the next. Also, we’ll be taking it slow during the creative process, as we’ll only focus on this new and revamped title. Our other title Panty & Stocking with Sonic & Knuckles will be pushed back to mid-December, as we prepare ourselves for our upcoming con outings.

D&A Anime Blog: Updates and Quick Reminders!
Hey guys n’ gals! Sorry we had to cut this post short, but we do have a few updates to talk about regarding our remaining conventions. First, we were thinking about making our first ever appearance at Colossalcon East in the Pocono Mountains in PA, but due to financial issues we unfortunately had to cancel. In the meantime however, we will be making our way to Anime Festival Orlando (August 3-5, 2018), and Anime USA (October 19-21, 2018). We’re hoping to have some convention highlight videos of both cons by then, as it’s been awhile since we’ve posted any Youtube videos. (FYI, our channel is NOT dead!)
Also as far as updates go, we’ve posted the first chapter of our new crossover fanfiction “Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Silver” on Fanfiction.net! The link and blog page to that story will be coming soon. After much consideration, we’ve decided that we’ll be doing a special monthly newsletter segment starting January 2019, in celebration of our 3-year anniversary! If you would like to be a contributor to our newsletter, just let us know through our Contact Us page!

D&A Anime Blog: “Sonic Beatdown” Fanfiction Title Will Be Posted in Two Weeks!!
The wait is almost over guys n’ gals! Our crossover fan fiction title Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Silver will have its first two chapters posted two weeks from tonight! We’re also happy to announce that we’ve gotten all of the professional equipment we need in order to make some ‘Grade-A’ style original, and video game remixes from our Chiptune/Trap/Electronic Music Producer; Marko Technocolor! D&A Anime Blog: Fanfiction Update!!
Hey guys n’ gals, just a quick little update announcement about our two new crossover fanfiction titles. We’ve changed up the illustration as well as the plotlines for each title, and even added a few original characters to the cast. The new names of our titles is Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Silver, and Panty & Stocking with Sonic & Knuckles!
Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Silver, is a crossover fanfiction title between the Sonic the Hedgehog and Danganronpa franchises. It is also the first of four multi-crossover titles under the Sonic Beatdown fanfiction series. The setting takes place in an MMOARPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Action Role Playing Game) reality, after a cosmic event called “The Great Shift” happened over 1,000 years ago. Chapters in each of the four titles are told in first-person POV by several members of the main cast.
Setting/Overview:
Over 1,000 years ago, a cosmic event known as “The Great Shift” caused all of time and space, and even reality, to play out like an MMOARPG game. 70% of Earth’s population became normal NPCs (Non-Playable Characters) with normal lives, while the other 30% of the population became fighters and battlers against monsters, leveling up their stats, collecting loot and items, and more.
Plot/Synopsis:
In 2190, more than 80% of Earth’s population has been robotized by Eggman Nega in order to create his android army. Silver has been chasing down his arch-nemesis for many years, and has finally located his base. The psychic hedgehog infiltrates the Giga Maze Fortress; Eggman Nega’s HQ, and battles against a small army of robotized humans that were once citizens. He finds the evil scientist in the control room as Silver was prepared to put a stop to all of Nega’s madness once and for all. After a semi-lengthy battle Silver comes out on top, however Eggman Nega had one more trick up his sleeve. What Silver didn’t realize was that the battlefield they were fighting on, was the platform for Eggman Nega’s newest invention; The A.R.T. Machine (aka, The Alternate Reality Transporter Machine).
After flipping the switch Silver was blinded by a white light as he felt his body being transported to another world; molecule by molecule. Upon coming to the hedgehog found himself in a new city called Towa City, however the state of the city was in more peril than his own future. In the wake of the events of The Tragedy 50% of the population has been infected with ‘Despair Disease’, by the video that Junko Enoshima created. She and her sister Mukuro are the main trigger behind the uprising at Hope’s Peak Academy, as well as all of the tragic events that followed suit. Silver wanted to return to his time and defeat Eggman Nega and foil his plans once and for all, but after seeing the horrors of what the remaining people of Towa City are going through, he vows to help end their despair at the hands of the Despair Sisters. He won’t be going at it alone however; as Blaze and Shadow (who works for the G.U.N. Subdivision of Towa City) join up with him to battle against diseased victims, level up their stats, and defeat Junko Enoshima and her twin sister Mukuro. Will hope be on their side? Or will despair cripple their hopeful efforts…?

Panty & Stocking with Sonic & Knuckles, is a crossover fanfiction title between Sonic the Hedgehog and PSG. It is the second of four multi-crossover titles in the Sonic Beatdown fanfiction series. This title bears no connection to its predecessor fanfic; Sonic Beatdown: Danganronpa Silver, but it does take place in the same MMOARPG reality that was caused by “The Great Shift”. The chapters of course are told in first-person POV by members of the main cast.

D&A Anime Blog: Newsletter?
Well guys, we’re in the final days of ‘April Showers’ as we’re now getting ready for the ‘May Flowers’. With that in mind there’s a burning question we want to ask our fans; how do you guys feel about us doing a Newsletter? Many companies are cranking them out on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Although when it comes to otaku culture, there’s a whole LOT to talk about.
There’s all kinds of news going on in the anime community everyday, but we just wanted to know how would you all feel about us doing a newsletter. The benefits of doing one would allow us to cover content that you wouldn’t normally find in our filler posts, as well as expand our marketing strategy. We’re not saying that not doing one is a bad idea, but often times with millions of emails getting sent out everyday, it’s easy to understand why most of us are hesitant about giving away our email addresses. Getting spammed is no fun; as it causes you to miss really important emails, and sometimes those emails can contain viruses and Trojans in them if you’re not careful.
We want to give you guys are absolute best in terms of original content, anime and manga reviews, and so much more. Sure, our YouTube uploads have been mighty slow as of late, but we’re in the process of getting better post-production software and equipment, so that our future convention videos will be better in quality, and content! The same can be said for our music playlist segment, our fanfiction, and several other things.
Finally, we know we’ve said this over a thousand times already, but we want to thank our fans from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support that we’ve gotten over the last two years. You guys are like family to us and we want to make sure we honor our commitment to you, in giving you our best!
