Hey guys. It seems like every second of every hour, we’re receiving more and more cases of COVID-19 through the U.S. as well as other countries. Yeah, as much as we don’t want to accept it, this is kinda the ‘new normal’ for the time being. I will say this; even though many of us are cooped up in our houses, it has given birth to a slew of a whole bunch of exciting creative content. Sooo…we thought about jumping into the creative content pool with some content of our own. For starters, we’re going to roll out our little detailed review series called Anime REvisited; where we revisit anime titles and movies from the last 20 years. We’ll be kicking that off on April 2nd!
Around this time we would be making a list of what anime conventions you should check out for the month of April, but thanks to COVID-19 that is now moot. Instead we’ll be working on some new material for content during the month, so we’ll keep you updated on what we come up with. With Coronavirus giving 90% of our social lives a ‘Thanos’ snap, it’s pretty evident that we won’t be seeing you guys – physically at conventions – for awhile. Funny thing about this whole pandemic is the fact that if you’re a content creator, blogger, or even a live-streamer, you get real creative in the middle of a crisis. That’s why for any of you guys who’s conventions got cancelled thanks to COVID-19, we’re putting together…scratch that! We’re rallying the nerd troops together for a super special digital alternative anime convention, right on our Discord channel Anime Snap! It will kick off next week during the dates of our cancelled convention, Zenkaikon.
We’re gonna need you guys’ help as well (including all of the anibloggers who follow us)! We’ve reached out to a few voice actors to see if they were interested in this little test project of ours during COVID-19’s 2-Week House-Arrest Program. We know by the numbers it looks bad, but if you think about it – it’s not as bad as it COULD be. At least the very air we breathe is NOT contaminated by Coronavirus, cuz’ that would be VERY bad!
We do have some good news; more than half of the people infected (about 145,000) are fully recovering. Remember, there is a line between cautious and crazy, you just have to remember what side of the line you’re on. Until next post, stay safe and WASH YOUR HANDS! [Also, stay nerdy! ;)]
March is finally here, so that means the warm temps that we’ve been waiting several weeks for, are surely on the horizon – if they haven’t already arrived. With two-and-a-half weeks remaining until our next convention outing, we’ve been think about having another segment where we do full episodic reviews on anime titles that are well-known, and lesser-known called Anime REvisited. We don’t have an exact date of when we’ll be doing this segment, but if you guys have any suggestions on what titles you want us to revisit, just let us know in the comment section below, or hit us up on our discord channel. Also, with the upcoming release of Avidd Minddset’s Minddgames EP, we have a special remix of Sonic Adventure 2’s Meteor Herd level produced by Avidd Minddset. Be sure to like and subscribe to our youtube channel if you like the track, and Minddgames will be released on all major (and minor) music streaming services on March 13th. We’re finally into the third month of the new year, and just three weeks away from the first day of Spring. This month is going to be quite an exciting month because we’ve got some things planned as well as some releases (in terms of music) coming into the forefront. With all that being said here are just a few things that will be happening in March for the good ol’ boys of D&A Anime Blog:
Blogging Award Nominations
This month we’ll be nominating a few of our fellow blogging friends with some blogger awards; one of which is a special blogging award that we’ve created called the D&A Superstar Blogger Award! This award is for those bloggers who have liked and supported us since our 2016 inception, and have some of the most captivating posts that we’ve ever read. With our five-year anniversary (January 11, 2021) on the horizon, this blogger award is a special ‘Thank You’ to all of you awesome bloggers out there who are following your blogging passion. We’ll keep you posted throughout the month on when we’ll be nominating blogs for the award.
New Music
This month also marks the first time our own Donte’ J. Lewis of D&A Anime Blog releases music under his artist/producer name; Avidd Minddset. His first EP “Minddgames” will be available on music streaming platforms such as iTunes, SoundCloud, Spotify, Pandora, and more on March 13th. There’s also a collaboration track with music artist KING SHABAZZ called “Checkmate” coming soon to music streaming platforms everywhere, so we’ll keep you updated when it drops. Also, Lewis will be creating social media pages and eventually a website (as Avidd Minddset) exclusively for his music in the near-future.
New York! New York!
So it’s official; we’ll be going to our first New York anime convention known as Anime NYC! D&A heads to The Big Apple this November, and if you live in New York or in one of the five Burroughs and you want to see us live and in person, head on over to Anime NYC in the NYC this year.

March is only a couple weeks away, and with that comes a few updates from the good ol’ nerds of D&A Anime Blog – one of which we’re very excited about! Although it took approximately three-and-a-half months to perfect it; song by song, track by track, and element by element, we’re proud to announce that the six-track EP known as Minddgames is complete! The release date will be March 13th, and you’ll be able to listen to the album on all of the most popular music streaming services. It contains a blended mix of Hip-Hop and Trap beats (808’s and all), and electronic elements like Techno, Trance, and Chiptune. The overall sound is nice, crisp, clear, and pleasing to the ear – and it’ll probably make you wanna dance once you hear a few tracks. Again, you’ll have to wait until March 13th.

In other updates and news; we’ll also be doing some detailed reviews on past anime titles that some of you guys may not have seen, as well as overview-reviews on some upcoming titles for the 2020 season. We’ll keep you posted once those shows make themselves known through Crunchyroll and FunimationNow. Hey guys n’ gals! We’re back with another post filled with some quick updates about what we’ll be doing, and what new projects we have in the works. One project that we’ve been teasing for quite awhile is an upcoming six-track EP entitled Minddgames produced by D&A’s own Donte’ J. Lewis under the name Avidd Minddset. So far the music genres on the album include the 100 BPM booty-shaking genre known as ‘Twerk’ (which is at 106 BPM on the album), with Trap, Techno, and other electronic music elements (and Chiptune). There is also a collaboration single that he’s working on with rapper/singer KING SHABAZZ called “Checkmate”, which will be dropping in digital streaming sites and online stores near you – real soon!
“Checkmate” [Single] Album CoverAlso if you haven’t heard, we now have an official Discord channel called Anime Snap, which we manage, but we’re also looking for others who would like to volunteer to assist us in running it. If you’re interested let us know in our Contact Us page, or you call tell us in the comments below. This year aside from the conventions that we’ve listed already, there may be two more that we might be going to (if the price is right). One of them is a two-day convention called Otakufest in Miami, Florida happening 4th of July weekend, the other is a one-day college/university-style convention held by the university’s anime club in Baltimore, Maryland (UMBC) known as Retrievercon. Both of these cons are ‘maybes’ in our book, but you never know. If there are any cons that you want us to make a near-future appearance at, let us know in the comments below.

2020 is FINALLY here!! With that comes our first post of the new year, and what juicy info do we stumble upon while surfing the interweebs? Our favorite Vocaloid is officially booked for the one…the only…Coachella. We’re not making this up! We found this out less than two hours ago on our social media page. It’s safe to say that any fan of Hatsune Miku is probably doing this at their computer or laptop:

Miku has come such a long way since her debut, and we’re so proud of where her newest adventures are taking her! As for us and what our new adventures will be for the new year, we’ll be starting a new weekly “A-B” posting format; with “Week A” being Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and “Week B” being Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Our first Week A posts will kick off Monday, January 6th with the theme being Isekai Week!
Also, next week we kick off our convention adventures with our backyard con known as Animore. While there we’ll be going live on Instagram throughout the con, so if you want to know what we’re up to or how the con is, check out our Instagram for all the behind-the-scenes action! Actually, it’s been a long year. It’s hard to believe that this is the final month of 2019, and in less than 30 days we’ll be looking at this year through the rear-view mirror. Has it been easy for us to get posts and content up on our blog on a consistent basis? Not at all. However, we’re holding our heads up high for the new year, as we’ll be stepping just a little bit out of our comfort zone. This includes new anime reviews on 2020 Winter/Spring titles, a new Discord channel, new music (which will actually be on its own blog/site but you can listen on our Sidebar Music Player), and new anime cons!

Looking back we feel that we’ve sort have come a long way since starting the blog back in the cold Winter of 2016. What was meant to be a page filled with convention cosplay photos has now turned into an interactive site where you can read anime, manga, and video game reviews, watch con videos, and (in early 2020) listen to music. In spite of the fact that our reach on the physical end is financially limited, we plan on pushing forward to deliver our best nerdy content that we two guys can possibly bring! There’s been a lot of Isekai anime titles that have come out this year, so to kick off the new year we’ll be reviewing a new favorite (next to Konosuba) known as Cautious Hero! Ever wonder what its like to have freakishly high stats (HP, MP, ATK, DEF, SPD, etc.) but a special trait that causes you to be, well…overly cautious about everything? Seiya does!

Sonic The Hedgehog Movie (2020)
After the backlash Paramount suffered at the hands of the NOT-dead Sonic fanbase, they finally got the design that we all know and love from our childhood right where it should be! Once the movie officially comes out, you better believe there will be a review! ๐
We’re not sure what will be in store in terms of anime for the 2020 year, but based on what we’re seeing already (and what may be over the horizon), we’re in for quite a treat! Well, that’s all we’ve got on this post for now, but in the meantime we’ll do our best to have some filler post content up.
