D&A Anime Movie Review: DanMachi: Arrow Of Orion!

So we went to the movies a couple of nights ago, and we happened to stumble upon an anime movie involving a certain goddess from a certain series. On July 23rd D&A found itself at the movies watching the first ever DanMachi (or Is It Wrong To Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) movie entitled Arrow Of Orion! Although we’re not 100% sure this takes place after the events of the first season, we can assure you that there will be some new characters afoot in not just this movie, but the upcoming second season as well! You can get tickets and information about this movie through Fathom Events, or look for your local theater where it may be playing. (It’s one night only however, after that you’ll find it on Crunchyroll or FunimationNow!)

Bell and his goddess Hestia are back!

Without giving you too much spoiler, here’s what the movie is about…

In the city of Orario beneath a rather tall tower lies a dungeon, and only adventurers who form a partnership with the gods themselves will be able to take on the monsters within. Of course, this story doesn’t take place in Orario. Far from the city lies an ancient ruins that holds a new and terrifying threat. To stop it the goddess Artemis comes in search of a hero, and right off the bat you’d think it would be Ais Whatserface (as Hestia would call her) to be the one to accept this challenge, right? Nope. The destined person that the goddess has chosen is none other than Bell Cranel, the Level 2 adventurer who took down the final boss in season one (with the help of friends), and is a member of the Hestia Familia. Bell, Hestia, and the rest of the gang travel outside of their hometown as they face monsters that they’re none too familiar with, in a place that none of them have ever been to before.

The director and creator decided to go for an original story that would help the fan get hyped for the upcoming second season of the show. Artemis may be a new character exclusive to the movie, but she won’t be the only one! If you plan on seeing the movie (while its in select theaters for a certain time) be sure to stick around after the credits are over for some bonus footage goodness! As for the score of the movie, we’ve given it…

4.5 / 5 Stars

That will do it for our special D&A movie review, but as always there’s more awesome content to come, as we continue to click on all cylinders with our new auto-posting feature. Until next time, stay nerdy! 😉
